Chase and Area Family Services (CAFS)
We are a registered charity dedicated to supporting children, youth, and families in Chase and the surrounding communities. We believe that a strong, connected community is built through relationships and that every family deserves access to the programs, services, and spaces they need to flourish.
We operate the Riverstone Family Resource Centre located at 642B Shuswap Avenue, in Chase, which serves as a welcoming hub where families can access essential resources, connect with programs, and find support.
Our Story
CAFS began in 2019 as the Chase and Area Young Learners Society (CAYLS), founded to fill a gap in nature-based education for children after a local provider departed. What started as a forest school, Everwild Explorers, quickly grew as the community rallied around the need for more opportunities for families.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, CAYLS was the only organization actively running programs in Chase, creating critical connection points for children and families. As the organization grew, so did its understanding of the broader needs in the community. In 2023, CAYLS rebranded as Chase and Area Family Services to better reflect its expanded mission.
Today, CAFS is a registered charity offering a wide range of programs, community projects, and essential supports. It continues to grow alongside the community it serves.
